Alerts and ringtones

Each line's Alerts and sound decides how calls and texts get your attention.

Step by step

  1. Open Lines, tap the line, then Alerts and sound.
  2. For calls over Wi‑Fi and mobile data, choose Ring, Vibrate, Silent or Off under Incoming calls, and pick the Ringtone.
  3. Always ring for VIP contacts – even when the line is set to vibrate, silent or off.
  4. For texts: SMS alert, SMS sound and What notifications show – Full, Sender only or Discreet.

Good to know

  • Calls that ring on your SIM use your phone's own ringtone, vibration and Do Not Disturb. ShadowNumber can't change them.
  • Contacts can have their own ringtone and SMS sound, from the contact's page.
  • On iPhone you can choose only from ShadowNumber's own ringtones.

Cellular calls

Calls to the number ring on your phone's regular line in cellular quality, and outgoing calls go out through your phone's own dialer. You don't need internet to talk, and any phone can call the number.

SMS

Real text messages: any phone can text the number, and you can text any phone in Israel from it. Not an in-app chat.

Calling over Wi‑Fi is just an option, for when you have no reception.
