Discreet mode

Discreet mode protects the app itself, in case someone else holds your phone.

Step by step

  1. Open Lines and tap Discreet mode.
  2. Under App icon, pick a neutral icon: Lines, Notes or Shapes. On Android the home-screen name changes too.
  3. Turn on the lock with fingerprint, Face ID or a 4-digit PIN, and add a Decoy PIN that opens an empty account. On Android: Open from the phone dialer with a secret code.
  4. Delete history automatically after 1, 7 or 30 days, and Panic wipe to delete everything on the phone.

Good to know

  • The dialer code (*#*#7464#*#* by default) and staying out of recent apps work on Android only. On iPhone: a Shortcut or Back Tap.
  • Panic wipe removes calls, messages, voicemail and private contacts from the phone and signs you out. Your numbers keep working.
  • Signing out clears the lock and the discreet-mode settings.

Real calls. Real SMS.

Cellular calls

Calls to the number ring on your phone's regular line in cellular quality, and outgoing calls go out through your phone's own dialer. You don't need internet to talk, and any phone can call the number.

SMS

Real text messages: any phone can text the number, and you can text any phone in Israel from it. Not an in-app chat.

Calling over Wi‑Fi is just an option, for when you have no reception.
