Terms of use

Draft – pending legal review. The final text may change.

Last updated: October 2026 (draft)

These terms apply to the use of the ShadowNumber website and service: additional Israeli phone numbers for smartphones, and a cloud phone system for businesses.

1. The service

ShadowNumber provides additional Israeli numbers through its licensed partner operator. The number is not a second SIM: calls pass through our system to your phone.

Outgoing calls and SMS from the additional number go to Israeli numbers only.

2. What your phone needs

The service requires an active mobile line on your main phone that can make outgoing calls and receive SMS: sign-in codes are sent by SMS, and a call via SIM is dialled from your line to an access number (or received as a call-back on it). The call to the access number is charged under your mobile plan.

3. Sign-up and verification

You sign up with your real phone number and an SMS code. We don't ask for an ID. Identity is verified only when the law or a court order requires it for an account: we then ask the account holder to confirm their identity in the app, and outgoing calls and SMS from the account's numbers are paused until then. Incoming calls keep working.

4. Plans, trial and payment

Plans, add-ons and prices are shown in the app and on the pricing page. The free trial is limited to 10 minutes of calls or 7 days, whichever comes first, and 10 SMS, and is given once per phone number.

In-app purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, subject to their terms. Business customers are billed with a monthly tax invoice.

5. Fair and prohibited use

You may not use the service for harassment, fraud, spam, impersonation or anything unlawful. We may suspend a number used this way.

6. Emergency calls

Calls to the emergency numbers 100, 101, 102, 104, 105 and 112 are always handed to your phone's dialer and go out from your regular line, not through the service.

7. The number

The number is assigned to you while your plan is active. A number whose plan has ended may later be assigned to another customer, after a waiting period.

8. Liability

[To be completed by legal counsel: limitation of liability, service availability, changes to the service.]

9. Cancellation

[To be completed by legal counsel: cancellation under the Consumer Protection Law, refunds and auto-renewal.]

10. Contact

For questions about these terms, contact us through the contact page.

Real calls. Real SMS.

Cellular calls

Calls to the number ring on your phone's regular line in cellular quality, and outgoing calls go out through your phone's own dialer. You don't need internet to talk, and any phone can call the number.

SMS

Real text messages: any phone can text the number, and you can text any phone in Israel from it. Not an in-app chat.

Calling over Wi‑Fi is just an option, for when you have no reception.
